What happens
On a Shopify store, installing the NextRise Analytics Shopify app takes care of the following.
- Tracking — the web pixel bundled with the app records page views, add-to-carts, checkout starts, and purchases. It never touches your theme code.
- Importing orders — orders and refunds are read from Shopify and used for revenue, AOV, and per-product analysis.
On the store side, all you do is install the app and grant permissions.
How to tell whether you can install it yet
We are working through the Shopify App Store listing. The app itself tells you where things stand: under “Manage sites → Settings”, choose Shopify as the platform, and if an “Add from the Shopify App Store” link appears, you can install it from there.
If the link isn’t there yet, the app isn’t listed. In the meantime you can paste the tracking tag by hand to use traffic, CVR, and page analysis (order amounts won’t come in).
Billing
If you install through the Shopify App Store, billing is consolidated into your Shopify bill (not Paddle). There are four plans — S / M / L / XL — with the same contents as Plans and session allowances. Change or cancel your plan from Apps → NextRise Analytics in your Shopify admin; it can take up to a day to take effect.
Things to know
- Time on page isn’t available. Because of how Shopify’s order-complete page and pixels work, time on page can’t be captured. Engagement rate comes out somewhat lower as a result (this is also shown in the ”?” on screen).
- Transactions and funnel purchases won’t match. Transactions is the number of orders; funnel purchases is the number of “sessions with a purchase”. Shopify’s own reports show the same difference (When numbers don’t match).
- If purchases aren’t linked to visits, you’ll see a notice saying “Reopen NextRise Analytics from [Apps] in your Shopify admin”. Re-registering the pixel fixes it.
