Filters and segments

Narrow the numbers down by device, source, page, and more, and save the conditions you use often under a name. Also covers what changes and what doesn't while a filter is applied.

Updated: Sep 2, 2026

Filtering

From ”+ Filter” under the site header, you can filter by the following.

  • Source (channel, source / medium, campaign)
  • Landing page, viewed page, site search term
  • Device (mobile, desktop, and so on)
  • New vs. returning
  • Country, region
  • Day of week, hour of day

You can stack multiple conditions. In the Acquisition, Pages, and Users tables, clicking a row also filters by that condition (select several and they’re combined as “any of”). While a filter is applied, the KPIs, trend chart, and the tables on each tab show numbers only within that condition.

Saving a segment

Conditions you use often can be saved under a name with ”+ Save current filter”. Saved segments line up next to ”+ Filter” and can be applied with one click.

Examples:

  • “Mobile × search” — check the CVR of mobile search users every week
  • “Via email” — confirm revenue after a newsletter send
  • “Landed on a product page” — watch drop-off on ad landing pages

What doesn’t change while a filter is applied

  • Improvement cards don’t follow filters. Cards are chosen across the whole site, over the last 28 days. If we re-selected them within the filtered range only, the population would shrink and the cards would be swapped out wholesale, making them useless as a priority order. Within each card, the target pages and sources are named explicitly.
  • Overview revenue, transactions, and AOV are built from tracking rather than orders while a filter is applied, because orders don’t record “where the visitor came from”. The totals won’t match the unfiltered ones.
  • Breakdowns for the period imported from GA4 aren’t available while a filter is applied (we don’t hold combinations of breakdowns). While filtering, only numbers from the day you installed the tracking tag onward are shown.
